Maverick Training Center is an ATOS affiliate gym led by a team of highly experienced black belt instructors in Huntsville, Alabama. Founded by Professor Suzanne Ramsden, the gym specializes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, providing a fun, dynamic, and safe learning environment for students of all ages and skill levels. The gym is part of the prestigious ATOS team, led by multiple-time World Champion Andre Galvao. All black belt instructors at Maverick have received their degrees from Professor Galvao, ensuring world-class instruction and a strong competitive lineage. Maverick's approach focuses on the student, offering structured programs from kids (ages 4+) through adult competition training, with both gi and no-gi options available throughout the week. The instructor team includes Professor Suzanne Ramsden (3rd degree black belt, one of Alabama's first female black belts), Professor Evan Ramsden (2nd degree black belt, accomplished competitive grappler), Professor Julia Ramsden (black belt, IBJJF gold medalist and pro MMA fighter), and several other dedicated black and brown belt instructors. The Atos Loyalty Academy was founded on April 15, 2016, by Professor Marco “Cabeça” Oliveira, along with his group of students and instructors. The Atos Jiu-Jitsu Academy is led by Professors André Galvão and his wife Angelica Galvão, with its main headquarters in San Diego, CA. The Atos Academy has a history marked by being a major producer of champions, both nationally and internationally. This proves that today it is the fastest-growing academy in the scene, both in terms of athletes and simply lovers of this fascinating art. We are a team committed to technical quality and student well-being above all else. Although our team is known as a team of competitors, we know that most people primarily seek well-being, a new hobby, and in the meantime, some become competitors. Atos Jiu-Jitsu Porto Alegre, also known as Atos Guetho Jiu-Jitsu, is part of the renowned Atos Jiu-Jitsu team, one of the most successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition teams in the world. Founded by André Galvão and Ramon Lemos, the Atos team has produced numerous world champions and is known for its high-level technical instruction and competitive excellence. The Porto Alegre academy carries forward this legacy of excellence in the heart of Rio Grande do Sul. The academy is led by Professor Lucas "Foguinho" Souza, a black belt under Guto Campos who represents the Guetho Academy & Atos team coalition. Foguinho earned his black belt on June 7, 2022, and quickly made a name for himself as one of the top competitors in the middleweight division. His nickname "Foguinho" (meaning "Little Fire" in Portuguese) reflects his intense and passionate approach to training and competition. Under his leadership, students receive world-class instruction rooted in the proven Atos methodology. The academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for both children and adults, with programs designed to accommodate all skill levels from complete beginners to advanced competitors. Located in the São Geraldo neighborhood at Avenida Pará 828, the gym provides a welcoming environment for anyone interested in learning BJJ, whether for self-defense, fitness, or competition.
