For many years, the **Leão Dourado Sports Association** has followed a path of struggle and success in Jiu-Jitsu in Minas Gerais, nationally, and internationally. With top-level instructors, the team has been reaping the rewards of its dedication and effort in training not only athletes, but also conscious citizens and champions in various Jiu-Jitsu sporting events around the world. According to some historians, **Jiu-Jitsu** , or "gentle art," originated in India and was practiced by Buddhist monks. Concerned with self-defense, the monks developed a technique based on the principles of balance, the body's articulation system, and leverage, avoiding the use of force and weapons. With the expansion of Buddhism, Jiu-Jitsu spread throughout Southeast Asia, China, and finally reached Japan, where it developed and became popular. From the late 19th century onwards, some Jiu-Jitsu masters migrated from Japan to other continents, making a living teaching the martial art and participating in fights.

Ct Léo Cordeiro

CT Léo Cordeiro BJJ is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training center in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, offering BJJ, Muay Thai, and personal defense classes. The gym is led by Professor Léo Cordeiro, a highly experienced black belt (3rd degree) with over 20 years in the sport and multiple international and regional titles. Professor Léo Cordeiro created the "Kings of Jiu Jitsu" event to promote martial arts culture in the interior of Rio de Janeiro state. His gym has produced successful young competitors who compete at IBJJF championships, demonstrating the quality of instruction and training environment. CT Léo Cordeiro offers programs for both children and adults, with experimental/trial classes available for newcomers. The academy focuses on technical development, competition preparation, and building a strong martial arts community in Campos dos Goytacazes.
