We offer instruction in MMA, boxing, wrestling, Thai boxing and of course the all important 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu. All of our instructors have proven track records in their chosen field, including British and European champions and an Olympic class wrestler. Instructor Bio Mick Broster is both the head 10th Planet jiu jitsu and head MMA coach at 10th Planet Birmingham Mick has been training in MMA and submission fighting since early 1997 starting out at one of the UK’s oldest MMA clubs – the Tap Out Academy.

Aura MMA is a collaboration of friends with the same goal – to bring some of the best training and opportunities for growth through martial arts to inner city Birmingham. The gym has become a family where everyone works together to bring out the very best in everyone. The training doesn't stop during Ramadan, as Muslim athletes adjust their routines for the holy month while continuing their martial arts journey. Since opening in Sparkhill, Aura MMA has been deluged by youngsters, with kids classes filled to capacity in a short space of time. The gym offers comprehensive training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, Muay Thai, and Wrestling, with programs for all ages and skill levels from beginners to advanced competitors.

Birmingham Pro Jiu-Jitsu

Pro Jiu Jitsu is based in Aston, just minutes from Birmingham city centre, and welcomes students of all ages and experience levels. Whether you're brand new to the mats or an experienced competitor, this gym offers a supportive, challenging environment where you can learn, improve, and thrive. Pro Jiu Jitsu is more than just a team—it's a community built on friendly training partners, positive energy, and a shared love for Jiu Jitsu. The classes are built around high-level, proven training methods that focus on repetition, specific drilling, and strategic coaching. These methods help students of all levels understand techniques deeply, build strong habits, and make faster progress both in training and competition. The academy offers programs for kids (ages 5-14), adults of all levels in both Gi and No-Gi, as well as advanced members-only classes for experienced practitioners. Head Instructor Norbert Nowak is a third-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with over 16 years of coaching experience. Having competed at national and international levels in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and wrestling, Norbert has won countless titles across the world and coached many national, international, and European champions. He is known for his friendly, down-to-earth approach combined with meticulous attention to detail and a methodical style of teaching that blends old-school fundamentals with modern concepts. Ram Dau, also a black belt, heads up the Pro Jiu Jitsu Children's programme with over 4 years of experience. She is known for being kind and patient, helping students out of their shell and encouraging everyone to work together as one team.
