Juan started his journey in jiu jitsu when he first tried training at a local MMA gym in Yuma, AZ back in 2009. After his first class he knew he was hooked and got the jiu-jitsu bug. Soon after, he moved back home to Mesa, AZ where he continued his journey training under John Botello in January of 2012. Throughout his journey training, Juan has tested his skills and limits through various competitions from NAGA, Fight To Win, West Valley Rumble, and more as well as took on the role as morning class instructor at 10th Planet Phoenix. Almost a decade from his first introduction after countless hours of training, competing, and teaching, Juan received his Black Belt in 2021. 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Allentown is a premier no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, offering the most practical and exciting form of jiu-jitsu. Part of the renowned 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu system founded by Eddie Bravo, the academy is recognized as one of the east coast's best academies, with some of the world's top competitors training under their roof. Estudante De Guerra (Student of War) is a personal Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training philosophy created by Dustin "Clean" Denes, a 6th degree black belt and Brazilian Champion. This is not a traditional gym facility but rather represents Denes' unique approach to BJJ instruction, emphasizing "old school" fundamentals, battle-tested techniques, and a championship mindset. Dustin Denes is best known for his accomplished submission skills and the nickname "Clean, o Rei do Triângulo" (Clean, King of the Triangle). He earned his black belt in 2001 after spending over two years training in Rio de Janeiro with the legendary Brazilian Top Team. His lineage includes Marcus Silveira (Carlson Gracie Miami), Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira, Murilo Bustamante, Zé Mario Sperry, and Ricardo de la Riva. He became Brazilian Champion in 2000, defeating highly technical fighters including Marcelo Garcia in the final. Denes played a major role in the founding and first generation of American Top Team, competing professionally in both BJJ and MMA. His training philosophy emphasizes strong defense, brutal offense, and techniques proven successful against the best competitors in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. He is fluent in Portuguese and holds a BS in Marketing from Florida State University and an MBA from Florida International University. His goal is to transmit his knowledge through teaching, inspiring youth and empowering students with legitimate BJJ from the source - Rio de Janeiro.

Ethos Jiu-Jitsu

Ethos Jiu-Jitsu is a family-oriented Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Fullerton, California, founded by second-degree black belts Ron Mukai and Jerardo (Jerry) Linares, both under William Tetsch of Leon Jiu Jitsu. The academy prides itself on being a home for jiu-jitsu, self-defense, and anti-bullying, with a mission of building character through jiu-jitsu. The lineage traces back through Helio Gracie, Royler Gracie (Gracie Humaita), Cleber Luciano (Cleber Jiu Jitsu), and William Tetsch. Ethos offers specialized programs for the entire family, including Kids Pee Wee (ages 5-7), Kids classes (ages 8-13), and comprehensive adult programs with Fundamentals classes for beginners and All Levels classes for intermediate and advanced practitioners.
