9th Isle BJJ

9th Isle BJJ is one of the newest affiliates of Cascao Jiu Jitsu, training under Professor Walter Cascao Vital. The gym brings together the Hawaiian values of family (ohana), respect, discipline, hard work, and dedication, fused with the vibrant energy of Las Vegas. Walter Cascao, Brazilian-born, started training Jiu Jitsu in 1991 and has since traveled the world training, competing, and spreading his knowledge as a Pan American Champion and North America Champion.

The head instructor, Gaspar "JunBug" Agabin, is a purple belt under Robert Drysdale with over 20 years of martial arts experience. Agabin's impressive competition record includes being the 2007 NAGA West Coast intermediate champion, 2011 IBJJF Las Vegas Open blue belt super heavyweight masters champion, and 2013 IBJJF masters super heavyweight purple belt bronze medalist. He also trained alongside notable fighters including Joe Stevenson, Marc Laimon, Kendall Grove, Jason "Mayhem" Miller, Tito Ortiz, and many others.

9th Isle BJJ specializes in developing a solid base in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, grappling, anti-bullying programs, and self-defense. The gym offers comprehensive programs for both kids and adults, including beginner and advanced gi classes, no-gi submission grappling, striking, and MMA training. The facility emphasizes building respect and self-esteem while preparing students for both competition and practical self-defense situations.
