Tim Burrill Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a well-established martial arts academy in Providence, Rhode Island, founded by Tim Burrill, the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in Rhode Island. Tim Burrill earned his black belt under Carlos Machado, one of the famous Machado Brothers, and was one of the first Americans to receive a black belt from Carlos Machado. His lineage traces through Carlos Machado to Carlos Gracie Jr. and the legendary Gracie family. The gym specializes in teaching Machado Jiu-Jitsu and has been serving the Rhode Island BJJ community for over two decades. The academy offers training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (gi and no-gi), MMA grappling, and submission wrestling. Tim Burrill BJJ has produced several competitive fighters including Mike "The Beast" Campbell, Joe "Lights Out" Pingitore, and Abe "Thumper" Pitrowski, among others.
