Master Marco Antônio Barbosa, known as 'Barbosinha', was born in 1968 in Araçatuba, São Paulo. He earned his Judo black belt in 1986 under Sensei Uichiro Umakakeba and competed internationally, representing Brazil at the 1991 Pan American Games and World Championships. He transitioned to Jiu-Jitsu in 1992 and became renowned as a masterful guard passer. In 2011, he founded the B9 academy network, which now has over 60 affiliates worldwide with more than 3,700 students.
