Braulio Estima is a multiple time ADCC Champion and multiple time Black Belt World Champion who has wins over some of the best in the world including Marcelo Garcia.  Braulio is infamous for his innovation.  Constantly trying to develop new techniques, he and his brother created one of the most devastating lower body submissions, the Estima Lock.

Braulio has spent years refining this technique and has been able to utilize it successfully at the highest levels of competition.  Through constant innovation and drilling he has learned every reaction his opponent gives him when threatening the Estima Lock and has developed a game off of it. 

Braulio has a very methodical approach to BJJ.  He has consistently been able to do things different and make them work.  First it was his unorthodox inverted triangle that he was able to submit Andre Galvao with, next it was his deadly toe hold and Estima Locks.

His though process is simple, if you utilize techniques that are not as popular you can capitalize on the lack of knowledge your opponent has.  For example, how many people have defended the traditional strait foot lock?  A lot, that doesn't mean it is an ineffective technique, it just means you need to practice it much more to make it work.  How many people have defended the Estima Lock from 50/50?  Not many, you can execute it much easier.
