Bravos Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is Perth's premier competition team, having won the Best Team Trophy 23 times in Western Australia under AFBJJWA. The gym has established itself as a world-level BJJ facility, with students achieving success at the highest levels including a Gold Medal at the 2018 IBJJF Gi World Championship in the USA and 2 Bronze Medals at the 2019 IBJJF No-Gi Worlds. Led by head coach Rodrigo Giraldes, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 25 years of experience, Bravos BJJ offers a comprehensive training program for all ages and skill levels. Rodrigo received his black belt in 2011 from Master Adriano Silva "Grifo," an 11-time world champion. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a focus on technique, strategy, and discipline. The gym's coaching staff includes multiple black belt instructors including Ben Wheeler, Igor Martins, Junior, DK, and Michael Djamil, all dedicated to providing the highest level of training in a positive and supportive environment. Bravos BJJ operates premium facilities in O'Connor and Joondalup, featuring high-quality Zebra mats (the same mats used by IBJJF), dedicated weight lifting areas, shower facilities, free parking, and parents areas. The gym offers a structured curriculum including BJJ Beginners, BJJ All Levels, BJJ Advanced, Kids BJJ (ages 6-10), Teens BJJ (ages 11-16), No-Gi classes, Competition classes, Strength and Conditioning, and Wrestling for BJJ.

Our roots trace back to Grandmaster Armando Wriedt, a pioneer of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and one of Helio Gracie’s earliest black belts and one of only seven Masters to receive a Red Belt from Helio. Inspired by the precision of a snake’s constriction, our art reflects nature’s efficiency and power.
