Alliance Piracicaba Centro is led by Professor Flávio Junqueira, a black belt under the legendary Fábio Gurgel. Born in Piracicaba in 1990, Flávio began training Jiu-Jitsu at age 14 under Professor Alessandro Bandeira. After earning numerous national and international titles at blue and purple belt, he became an instructor at 21. At 23, he moved to São Paulo to train at Alliance headquarters, one of the world's premier Jiu-Jitsu academies, under Master Fábio Gurgel. In 2016, Flávio won the Brazilian Championship at brown belt, and in 2017, he earned his black belt, becoming the 101st black belt awarded by Master Fábio Gurgel. His lineage traces through Mitsuyo Maeda → Carlos Gracie → Hélio Gracie → Carlson Gracie → Ricardo Delariva → Iliarde Santos → Fábio Gurgel → Flávio Junqueira. Alliance Piracicaba Centro offers comprehensive programs for all ages and skill levels, from Baby Eagles (3-5 years) to advanced adult classes. The academy is led by Professor Lucas "Foguinho" Souza, a black belt under Guto Campos who represents the Guetho Academy & Atos team coalition. Foguinho earned his black belt on June 7, 2022, and quickly made a name for himself as one of the top competitors in the middleweight division. His nickname "Foguinho" (meaning "Little Fire" in Portuguese) reflects his intense and passionate approach to training and competition. Under his leadership, students receive world-class instruction rooted in the proven Atos methodology. Anderson Barata BJJ, operating at Associação Nova Roma de Jiu Jitsu in Casa Forte, Recife, is led by Professor Anderson Barata, a black belt since 2008 with over 10 years of experience teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense. The academy focuses on practical, reality-based Jiu-Jitsu training with an emphasis on self-defense applications for everyday situations. Professor Anderson Barata began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 1994, inspired by Royce Gracie's performance at the first UFC event. He trained under the renowned Mestre Jesiel Andrade, one of Pernambuco's most respected Jiu-Jitsu masters, learning the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu with a focus on real-world situations and self-defense. His training philosophy emphasizes consciousness, posture, and practical decision-making, ensuring students learn techniques they can apply immediately.
