Equipe STJJ Farias, also known as Sparta Jiu-Jitsu, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy located in Barra do Aririú, Palhoça, Santa Catarina. Founded and led by Professor Érico Leopoldo de Farias, the academy has established itself as an active competitor in both national and international tournaments. The academy has demonstrated strong performance in youth development, competing in the AJP Tour (Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro) with notable achievements including earning 1,200 ranking points and placing #40 in the 2023 South America Youth Continental Championship. In 2025, the team continued its competitive success at the AJP Tour São José International Championship, earning gold medals in both gi categories. Beyond competition training, Sparta Jiu-Jitsu is committed to community engagement and specialized programs. In November 2024, the academy hosted a free women's self-defense seminar led by athlete Flávia Mafra, focusing on practical techniques including escapes from common attacks and situational awareness training using the OODA cycle (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act). The event welcomed participation from local municipal guards to provide additional security perspectives alongside martial arts instruction, demonstrating the academy's dedication to serving the broader Palhoça community.
