Breakfast Club Jiu-Jitsu

Downtown area Jersey City, NJ 07302, Jersey City, MI 07302

Founded in 2024, Breakfast Club Jiu-Jitsu started as a small group of friends training before work, leveraging the ecological approach to BJJ. The "Breakfast Club" name stuck, representing their commitment to starting the day with hard work and camaraderie. Today, they have grown into a full-service academy in the heart of Jersey City, but maintain that same tight-knit, welcoming atmosphere. They believe that BJJ is for everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or background. The academy emphasizes a unique training philosophy centered on the ecological approach to learning. Rather than rigid techniques, they focus on adaptability and innovation, empowering students to develop a fluid and responsive style that evolves with understanding. They prioritize creating a safe training environment where mutual respect is paramount and partners take care of each other. The curriculum emphasizes real-world application, building confidence and effective responses for various situations while fostering a community-first mentality. The instruction team is led by Professor Noam, a black belt with a passion for technical excellence and community building. Coach Chris, a brown belt and experienced practitioner, is dedicated to helping students reach their potential. Coach Denzel, a purple belt, specializes in wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The academy also features women's-only classes run by Professor Dylan, providing a supportive environment dedicated to women practitioners. Breakfast Club offers comprehensive programs including morning "Breakfast Club" sessions, kids BJJ, wrestling, open mats, and innovative "reverse classroom" sessions where students review instructional content beforehand and spend class time troubleshooting with instructor guidance.
