Fargo Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy was established in 2008 by husband and wife black belt team Sarah and George Andersch. As the pioneer in bringing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the Dakotas and western Minnesota, Fargo BJJ has introduced the art to thousands of men, women, and children in the region. The academy is affiliated with Easton BJJ under American BJJ pioneer Amal Easton, with lineage tracing directly back to the Gracie family in Brazil through Renzo Gracie.
The mission of Fargo BJJ Academy is to empower individuals of all ages to reach their full potential through the highest level of martial arts instruction, promoting a culture that emphasizes health, fitness, self-development, and a positive lifestyle. With hundreds of students and over 20 black belts, Fargo BJJ proudly leads the largest and most successful martial arts community in the region, setting the gold standard for training in the area.
The academy is led by experienced black belt instructors including George Andersch (4th degree black belt), Sarah Andersch (4th degree black belt), David Tofte (2nd degree black belt), Jake Dewey (1st degree black belt), Darren Coombs (black belt), Rob Ashe (black belt), and Elijah Bender (black belt). Their core values of community, excellence, and grit define the essence of their BJJ family.
