Ferro Academy is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Elmhurst, Illinois, founded by Professor Anthony "Sickness" Ferro. The academy provides high-quality BJJ training while focusing on students' individual fitness goals in a modern studio designed with student safety as the number one priority. Professor Anthony Ferro has been practicing mixed martial arts for over 18 years, with the last 14+ years focused on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Before his immersion in BJJ and MMA, Professor Ferro served in the United States Marine Corps, completing two tours in Iraq in 2005 and 2006. His interest in BJJ began after watching Royce Gracie's victories in the early UFC against much larger opponents. Professor Ferro currently holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has medaled 14 times as a black belt at IBJJF competitions. He also competed in MMA, securing an undefeated record of 7-0 at 125 pounds. In addition to his BJJ training under various instructors, Professor Ferro has trained in Muay Thai at Team Toro in Illinois and wrestled with Manny Vasquez and Ron Valdez. Beyond teaching BJJ, Professor Ferro has been a personal trainer for over seven years and continues to compete actively in jiu jitsu tournaments across the United States. The academy welcomes students of all ages and skill levels, with dedicated programs for kids (including a "Minis" program for ages 3-6) and adults.
