Coach Bio: Chauncey Nuusolia is the head instructor of 10th Planet North Dallas. Chauncey is a Black Belt under Curtis Hembroff, and Eddie Bravo. He started training at a 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu school in 2007. Between his in-depth knowledge of the 10th Planet system and his attention to detail, coach Chauncey worked his way up to an instructor at the 10th Planet Austin, in 2017. Alliance Jiu Jitsu Dallas, also known as Double Five Dallas, is part of the world-renowned Alliance team, one of the most successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu organizations with over 300 affiliates worldwide. The academy offers comprehensive BJJ training for all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced competitors. Under the leadership of head professor João Gabriel Rocha, the academy embodies a training philosophy that views every move as a lesson in wisdom and every challenge as an opportunity to learn. This approach has been tested and proven by hundreds of students who have benefited from the structured curriculum and world-class instruction. The academy offers programs for kids and adults, with specialized classes for different skill levels including beginner, intermediate, advanced, and no-gi training. Professor João Gabriel Rocha is a 4-time World Champion, 2-time ADCC Vice-Champion, and 20-time Brazilian National Champion. He started training at age 3 and became Brazilian National Champion at all belt levels, including twice as a black belt. After overcoming a cancer diagnosis in 2014, shortly after receiving his black belt, he returned to competition and achieved remarkable success, becoming a 4-time Pan-American Champion, World Pro Champion, ACB Champion, and King of the Mats Champion. His lineage traces through Carlos Gracie → Helio Gracie → Carlson Gracie → Crézio de Souza → André Almeida → Rafael Barbosa/Leandro Escobar → João Gabriel Rocha.

Alex Martins Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (AMBJJ) in Dallas, Texas is led by Professor Alex Martins, a 5th Degree Black Belt with over 20 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Martins began his martial arts journey in 1997 at age 17, training under Junior Cardoso in Manaus, Brazil, and has since become a global reference in the BJJ community. Professor Martins is an elite competitor with an impressive competitive resume, including IBJJF Master World Champion in 2016 and Ranked #1 in the World in the IBJJF Master 2 Division during the 2017/2018 season. He was personally awarded by Professor Carlos Gracie Jr. for his outstanding competitive achievements. His competition success spans across the United States, Japan, Spain, UAE, Brazil, and Europe, with multiple gold medals at prestigious events including American Nationals, Pan Ams, and numerous IBJJF Opens. The academy's teaching philosophy extends beyond techniques, focusing on shaping lives through discipline, confidence, respect, and personal development. Professor Martins brings enthusiasm, patience, and structure to every class, helping students reach their potential both on and off the mats.
