Welcome to 10th Planet Bastrop! My name is Gabe Tuttle and I am a first degree black belt under Richie “Boogeyman” Martinez with over a decade of teaching experience. My jiu jitsu journey started in San Diego training at a couple different local schools before settling in with Richie and Geo Martinez in 2015 when 10th Planet San Diego opened up. I am very proud to be the school’s first homegrown black belt; especially being promoted under Richie and Geo who are two of 10th Planet’s most renowned and celebrated individuals. I spent several years teaching at 10th Planet San Diego and helped to develop one of the most decorated schools in the affiliation. After achieving my black belt I moved to Austin, Texas in 2020 where I would eventually take on the head instructor role at 10th Planet Austin. It was a pleasure to help build the army that is now 10PATX but the time has come to establish and cultivate my own school from the ground up. Bastrop, Texas is located just ~30 miles east of Austin.

Ben Gardner is the owner and grappling coach for Dokkodo Martial Arts/10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Bath, NY.  Ben is a lifelong martial artist and started wrestling at the young age of 4.  He went on to study various traditional martial arts such as aiki-jujutsu, jujutsu, and karate – eventually earning a 2nddegree black belt in karate.  In 2011, Ben began training at 10th Planet Rochester and was immediately hooked.  He competed in various tournaments throughout NY state and the northeast, having success and winning various competitions at different levels along the way.  In 2021 Ben received his Black Belt from Chris Herzog in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. 10th Planet Beirut’s head coach Talal Karaki, an athlete that has been immersed in martial arts as early as a kid is allowed, was first introduced to the 10th Planet System during one of his training camps in Singapore at Evolve MMA. Karaki instantly fell for the System, and under the supervision of Eddie Bravo’s black belt Slick Rick Marshal, Talal became the first officially ranked Singapore 10th Planet Practitioner. For the past years Karaki has been training rigorously at some of the best gyms in the world such as Evolve MMA, and AKA Thailand where his training partners/coaches included top UFC, ONE FC; and BRAVE FC athletes. After being introduced to the 10th Planet system in Singapore, the vision was to create the same energy and community that we experienced abroad back home.  It all began with an idea, how to grow the sport of Jiu Jitsu in Lebanon. In December of 2018 10th Planet Beirut became the first official 10th Planet affiliate in the Middle East and North Africa.

Ralf Warneking is Europe’s first 10th Planet black belt under Master Eddie Bravo and the thirteenth black belt within the system. In 2011 Ralf won the IBJJF NoGi World Championship in the Super-Heavy and Open Class brown belt division. As a purple belt, he took first and second place in the Super Heavy and Open Class divisions at the 2009 IBJJF World Championships in Long Beach, California. 11 years of Mastering the System (from white to black belt) at 10th Planet HQ, he returned to Germany to bring the 10th Planet system to Berlin. Now in his fifties, Ralf is Germany’s only 10th Planet black belt. He still competes regularly, recently winning gold in the Masters’ Division at the 2018 NAGA European Championships in Amsterdam.
