Indianapolis Open 2026: Coming Home with 4 Golds | BJJ Competition Vlog

We landed in Indianapolis and immediately headed to pick up our Turo rental car - I'll explain why I chose Turo over traditional rental this time and break down the cost comparison for you. The house we're staying at had Kai a little freaked out because of some scary movies he watched, but the neighborhood is nice and close to the competition venue. Day one kicks off early with Cebolina competing, and let me tell you, the team came to WIN. We spent the whole day at the venue warming up, coaching from the corners, and supporting each other through multiple divisions. Sebolina competed in both her division and open class, working on her grips and gi game since she's been doing a lot of no-gi lately - all in preparation for Pans and Worlds coming up. George had an incredible day with six total fights, getting silver in his weight class and then beating the same opponent in absolute. Kai brought home double gold, and even though the day was exhausting, the energy and results were amazing.

Day two brought even more action with George refereeing for the first time at a major competition while also competing himself. The venue was super crowded but organized, and our team kept pushing through their matches. By the end of the weekend, we brought home FOUR GOLD MEDALS plus silver and bronze - we're so proud of how everyone performed and what we learned from this competition. But here's where things got crazy: we waited until the last possible minute to finish competing, and suddenly we're in a panic because we might miss our flight home! We had to sprint through everything, but I have to say, Indianapolis airport is genuinely the best airport I've ever experienced anywhere in the world. It's super clean, fast, organized, and the TSA people treat you so nice - we got from parking to our gate in 20 minutes flat. This whole trip was a rollercoaster of emotions, great performances, lessons learned, and last-minute chaos.
