What is it like to learn from the best? Joey had the unique experience of spending a couple of days with BJJ legend Mario Reis when he visited Australia recently. Not only is Mario a champion competitor but an incredible coach and now head Coach of the Alliance Jiu-jitsu competition team. Instead of the usual 2 hour seminar and see you later experience, Mario taught at Alliance Northern Beaches for a whole week which totally changed the dynamic and pace of how he taught. Both JT & Joey recount their first hand experiences of a master coach at work and how this helped them.

Do you like to train Hard? What is the hardest session you have ever done? JT & Joey have experienced some brutal training sessions at BJJ and in the gym. Do you fight to the death every roll? Got a team mate that goes 1000% but doesn't compete? If you have been on the wrong end of a training partner going super hard, it can be a bad time. In order to deal with a mat Hero you have to do your best to protect yourself. Maybe your team mate is bigger, stronger and perhaps even a higher belt and came for war. Regardless of how you feel- tired, flat or too relaxed, you have to bring a better intention and change your expectation.
