Professor Robert Mrotek founded Inner Strength Martial Arts In October of 2009. Prior to opening Inner Strength Martial Arts, Professor Mrotek was the President of the Martial Arts club at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He and a small group of students trained in a small room engaging in full-on grappling and kickboxing. These students urged Coach Mrotek to open a gym, starting the family that is Inner Strength Martial Arts.
