Academia Brazuka Jiu-Jitsu was founded in 1994 by Mestre Amauri do Espírito Santo dos Santos when he was transferred to Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul. What began with just two students in a small space quickly grew into a thriving martial arts community. The academy focuses on making authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu accessible to students of all economic backgrounds, emphasizing both sport and self-defense aspects including No-Gi training. Under the leadership of Mestre Amauri, an 8th degree black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, 6th Dan in Judo, and black belt in Luta Livre Esportiva, the academy has expanded significantly over the past three decades. The team now operates training locations across multiple Brazilian cities including Porto Alegre, Esteio, Barra do Ribeiro, Rio Pardo, Santa Cruz do Sul, Candelária, Estrela, Cachoeira do Sul, Santa Maria, Caçapava do Sul, and Pelotas, as well as international locations in the United States, France, and soon Canada. The academy's philosophy is rooted in the belief that "courage is the resistance and mastery of fear, not its absence." Brazuka Jiu-Jitsu prioritizes family values while maintaining a competitive training environment, recognizing that champions are developed through mutual support and dedication between training partners. Augusto Pulga Jiu-Jitsu is a premier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Tremembé, São Paulo, led by the renowned Professor Augusto Luiz de Andrade Rocha, known as "Pulga." With a history rooted in passion, dedication, and the relentless pursuit of excellence, Pulga Jiu-Jitsu has become a home for practitioners who seek not only technical mastery but also personal growth through the art of Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Pulga is a 5th-degree black belt and holds an impressive competitive record, including two-time World Champion titles with CBJJE and a vice-championship at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires.
