Dallas O'Regan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a family-oriented BJJ academy located in Cochrane, Alberta, offering over 30 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction. The academy is affiliated with the Alliance team lineage through head instructor Dallas O'Regan's connection to Romero "Jacaré" Cavalcanti and Jeff Joslin. With a motto of "Training. Community. Confidence. A Way of Life. We Are All One," the academy provides a welcoming environment for students of all ages and skill levels. The training philosophy emphasizes learning practical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques for real-life self-defense situations in a safe environment while gaining experience against opponents with varying degrees of skill, strength, and technique. The academy values integrity, respect, honor, courage, compassion, honesty, and loyalty, creating a supportive atmosphere where students can train safely and achieve personal development. Programs include Kids/Youth/Teens BJJ (ages 5-14), Adult BJJ (ages 15+), Women's Only BJJ (ages 13+), and MMA classes for both youth (ages 9-13) and adults (ages 14+), which launched in March 2026. Head instructor Dallas O'Regan is a black belt under former UFC fighter and Canadian BJJ pioneer Jeff Joslin of Joslin's Mixed Martial Arts in Hamilton, Ontario. With over 30 years of experience in the gentle art, Dallas has competed and placed top 3 in major tournaments including the Abu Dhabi Canadian Trials and the Ontario Open. His lineage traces back through Jeff Joslin to Romero "Jacaré" Cavalcanti, Rolls Gracie, Helio Gracie, Carlos Gracie, and Mitsuyo Maeda. Dallas was awarded his blue and purple belts in the presence of Romero "Jacaré" Cavalcanti, an honor he holds in high regard. He continues to train with aspirations of winning a World Masters division gold medal while building a competitive team of his own.
