BJJ Gozo is a sports association located in Xaghra, a village in the center of the island of Gozo, Malta. Founded in 2013 by François Deniau, a 2nd degree black belt under Megaton/Royler Gracie (Gracie Humaita lineage), the academy transmits the art of jiu-jitsu to students of all ages and backgrounds, with a primary focus on self-defense and martial arts education. The academy is situated in one of the most incredible places in the world - a small island that looks like a jewel in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Beyond offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the academy also provides freediving lessons, Jeep tours, and accommodation options for travelers and training camps. The facility includes a large training space accommodating up to 20 people, equipped for calisthenics, stretching, and yoga, plus a welcome area, freediving equipment room, and Japanese-style bedroom for camps and retreats. François Deniau is a former European champion who competed for Team Megaton/Gracie Humaita across Brazil, USA, and Europe. He had the privilege of meeting legendary figures including Helio Gracie, Royler, Rolker, and Rickson Gracie while competing. The academy emphasizes a friendly, welcoming environment where students from all horizons can train together, with a community-focused approach where students help with mat cleaning and parents assist with kids' classes.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Team Malta

BJJ Team Malta is Malta's first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy, founded with a mission to provide world-class training and build a strong and passionate community. The club operates two locations on the island: the Msida Dojo at 65 Triq il-Licew and the Kordin Dojo at TCK, Corradino Heights, Paola, offering enhanced flexibility and a variety of training options for all skill levels. Behind the creation of BJJ Team Malta is Keith Darmanin—a 3rd Degree BJJ Black Belt, 2nd Dan Goshin Ju-Jitsu Black Belt, and Malta's first BJJ Black Belt. With over 30 years of experience and a deep passion for the sport, Keith's vision is to share his knowledge, elevate the art of BJJ in Malta, and represent the nation proudly on the international stage. He leads a dedicated coaching team including Jozua Curmi, Doraine Caruana, and Kyran Sciberras. BJJ Team Malta offers a comprehensive training program that transcends traditional martial arts boundaries.
