Escola SG BJJ is a premier Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Singapore led by Professor Takeo Tani, a 5th degree black belt with over 36 years of experience. Professor Takeo is a true pioneer of BJJ in Asia, having brought the art back to Japan from Brazil in 1994. His lineage includes training under the legendary Master Draculino and sharing the mats with world champions such as Romulo Barral. As the inaugural Head Coach of the Singapore National Team, Professor Takeo has led the team to outstanding success on the international stage, including 2 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals at the 2019 SEA Games. With more than 20 years as a black belt, he has instructed and nurtured many Jiu Jitsu world champions across Japan, Brazil, Singapore, and the USA. The academy offers a comprehensive curriculum spanning traditional self-defense and modern sports Jiu Jitsu, with programs for all levels: Essentials (self-defense fundamentals), Basics (fundamental ground game and control), and Advanced (complex artistic techniques). Located in collaboration with Tiger Muay Thai at the heart of Singapore's CBD at OUE Downtown, the academy maintains small class sizes of 8 students maximum for dedicated personal attention. FaMA BJJ

FaMA – Fitness and Martial Arts is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Singapore built on dedication, attention to detail, and a passion for learning. The training focuses on technical precision, discipline, and continuous improvement, helping students build confidence and mental resilience through structured instruction. With a strong emphasis on positive reinforcement and self-development, FaMA guides students to trust in their abilities while refining their techniques. The academy is led by Professor Zoro Moreira Jr., a 5th Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt from Macaé, Brazil, who began training BJJ in 1993. Zoro trains under the Gordo Jiu-Jitsu lineage and received his black belt from Carlos Gracie Jr. and Adão Januário in 2005. His notable achievements include three Brazilian National Championship titles and a gold medal at the IBJJF World Championships in 2005. As a professional MMA fighter, he holds a record of 8 wins and 3 losses, having competed in top promotions such as ONE FC and Martial Combat. He is also an experienced Muay Thai fighter with an undefeated professional record of 5 wins and 0 losses, training under the legendary Kru Yo. FaMA's goal is to create a welcoming, growth-driven environment where everyone—from beginners to advanced practitioners—can train, progress, and thrive. The academy offers programs for all ages, from young children (ages 4-5) through teens and adults, with classes structured to meet students at their level and help them develop both on and off the mats.
