10th Planet Las Vegas is the newest addition to the trinity of gyms located in Orange County, 10th Planet Costa Mesa,10th Planet Buena Park and 10th Planet Orange. All four gyms operate as one. If four gyms for the price of one, is not enough, there are also three full time Eddie Bravo Black Belts (Ron Turner, Casey Halstead and Andrew Ramm). On any given day you may run into UFC fighters such as Mark Munoz, Cain Carrizosa, Diego Rivas, Carla Esparza, Ashlee Evans-Smith and Anthony Birchak. Casey Halstead is a professional Mixed Martial Arts trainer with over eight years of coaching experience. Originally a mixed martial artist with a boxing foundation, Casey took his Eddie Bravo Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, striking, and wrestling, skills onto the teaching platform. He is the owner and head coach of 10th Planet Las Vegas, 10th Planet Costa Mesa, 10th Planet Buena Park, and 10th Planet Orange, while still training under 7th Degree Red and Black Belt Jean Jacques Machado and 10th Planet’s founder Eddie Bravo. In addition to the series of the four 10th Planets, he was the head Jiu Jitsu instructor at Mark Munoz’s Reign Training Center. Casey actively works with some of the most experienced and well respected MMA fighters in the world. Walter Cascao, Brazilian-born, started training Jiu Jitsu in 1991 and has since traveled the world training, competing, and spreading his knowledge as a Pan American Champion and North America Champion. The head instructor, Gaspar "JunBug" Agabin, is a purple belt under Robert Drysdale with over 20 years of martial arts experience. Agabin's impressive competition record includes being the 2007 NAGA West Coast intermediate champion, 2011 IBJJF Las Vegas Open blue belt super heavyweight masters champion, and 2013 IBJJF masters super heavyweight purple belt bronze medalist. Cobrinha BJJ Las Vegas is an affiliate of the world-renowned Alliance team, led by Professor Hector Vasquez. Alliance is considered one of the most successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teams in history, with 15+ IBJJF World Championship titles and over 300 affiliates worldwide. The academy is directly connected to Rubens 'Cobrinha' Charles, widely regarded as the best featherweight in BJJ history and the first (and only) black belt to complete the Super Slam—winning all 5 major tournaments (ADCC, World Championship, Pan Championship, European Championship, and Brazilian Nationals) in a single year (2017). With 11 years of teaching experience and multiple championships, Arturo is excited to share his passion for BJJ and continue the legacy of both Atos and Kelley.
