REAL BJJ CULTURE IN BRAZIL | ALLIANCE ACADEMY

BJJ in Rio de Janeiro hits different. After a full competition week in São Paulo, we packed everything and flew to Rio to keep training — this time at one of the most iconic academies in the world, Alliance. Five in the morning, bags barely unpacked, and we were already on the mat. That is what preparing for the Worlds looks like when you are serious about the result.

After training at Alliance, Rio showed us everything it has. Açaí at Leblon, one of the most famous streets in the city with the beach right at the end of it. Futevôlei at Hikaru Beach — volleyball with no hands, which is harder than it looks. And then straight from training into the ocean for a surf session with tired eyes and zero regrets. The Alliance pro shop had gis wall to wall, and the team left with renewed energy for the last days in Brazil.
