ALLIANCE JIU JITSU WINTER CAMP 2026:
We decided to embark on a different kind of adventure: a jiu-jitsu camp in Boise, Idaho, that combines intense training on the mats with the thrill of snowboarding and skiing in the mountains. This unique experience brings together the best of both worlds, technical improvement in jiu-jitsu through seminars with experienced instructors, and quality family time shredding down the snowy slopes of Bogus Basin. It's an incredible opportunity to strengthen bonds both on and off the mats, while the kids have fun learning new sports and adults enjoy high-quality training sessions.
The camp took place in Boise, a surprising city that offers complete infrastructure for jiu-jitsu practitioners who want to enjoy winter in the mountains. During the days, we participated in seminars and open mat sessions, working on specific techniques, guard passes, submissions, and competition strategies. The instructors shared fundamental details about position control, efficient transitions, and concepts that make all the difference in a practitioner's development. In the afternoons and during breaks, we headed up to Bogus Basin Mountain, where you can rent snowboard and ski equipment for affordable prices - around $49 for kids and $59 for adults, including complete gear.
This trip was special not only for the technical aspect of jiu-jitsu, but mainly for the family experience. Watching the kids progress in snowboarding, sharing meals together in our rental house with a jacuzzi, and creating memories while practicing the sport we love is something unique. The winter camp in Boise has become an annual tradition for our family and the jiu-jitsu community that participates. It's an event I highly recommend for anyone wanting to combine jiu-jitsu development, snow fun, and quality time with family. If you're looking for a different jiu-jitsu experience where high-level training meets mountain adventure, this is the perfect camp.
