BJJ is challenging with all your limbs, what if you only had 1 arm & 1 leg? Sean Fong survived massive physical trauma in rural Fiji as a kid which left him without his right leg and left arm. He had to relearn how to live again, but he had a burning desire to show the world he could be the best! His no BS, get after it approach led him to become a swimming champion, World Record holder and ultimately brought him to Jiu-Jitsu. Many able bodied people make excuses as to why they can't or won't do BJJ but this never crossed Sean's mind. He has done everything in his power to be a great athlete and push himself to roll and compete against able bodied competitors. This lead him to the top of the Podium at Abu Dhabi Pro world tournament. Same old warm up? Try this random technique, now drill and let's roll. Is this the best way to learn? Probably not. Even though every Jiu-Jitsu coach has a different approach to teaching technique, the current state of BJJ classes is a tired old formula. But what is the best way to teach BJJ? - Skip Warm Ups or Athletically Primed- Live Games better than Drills?- Planned Classes or Freestyle seminars- Teacher Leader VS Team Teaching If you are struggling with remembering what is taught in class you need to find the best way for you to learn. Once you identify what works this it will accelerate your BJJ dramatically. The way the class is taught is outside your control so don't depend on it, be intentional and own what you are learning.
