Today's video comes a YouTube comment where a fella asks a question based on his Buddhist beliefs. Being that this is a BJJ focused channel I answer it with that in mind.
That said, the idea he's getting at is applicable to just about any aspect of life in my bearded opinion and experience. But it's been useful to perform at my best in BJJ competitions and tournaments.
His question is
"Question: I’m Buddhist and we talk about how expectations and outcomes is what causes suffering. Is there a distinction between having goals I want to obtain and not having expectations or outcomes in mind? I’m stuck on this."
I share some experiences of mine and the idea I often share about high standards and low expectations. This idea has helped me perform better in BJJ competitions, BJJ training and many other aspects of my life.
Thanks for watching the video.
