About This Event
The TOP CLUB of the year wins the prestigious Lockdown Cup and earns bragging rights as the BEST GRAPPLING CLUB.
Lockdown welcomes all grappling styles and offers divisions for all levels of experience and knowledge.
MATCHES WILL BE CONTESTED AS FOLLOWS:
1 x 5-minute round. The judging is like MMA, based on effective grappling. What does this mean? Does it look dominant, does it look effective, are they tapping, then you are winning! Regardless of style or technique, does it work? That’s the deciding factor.
If there is no determined winner, both competitors will be given a 1-minute break, with the subsequent overtime/eliminator round being 3 minutes.
In the case of two competitors in a single weight division, the winner of the division will be based on the best of three 5-minute rounds.
TEAM GRAPPLING POINTS:
* We highly encourage TEAM SUPPORT by NOT charging spectator entry.
* Podium photos are captured on the day and featured on our Instagram for all to see! Gold, silver and bronze medalists will have their well-earned awards mailed directly to them, because we all love a package in the mail!
