# Terrace Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Open

## Overview

**Event Type:** Competition

**Description:** Date: May 13th (Saturday) 2023

Time: Youth start at 10am / Adult starts at 12pm (Come 1 hour prior for check in)

Location: Caledonia Secondary School (3605 Munroe St. Terrace, BC V8G3C4)

Cost: $25 per category (Absolute will be sign up day of tournament)

Rules: IBJJF Points, Scoring, and Procedures done in a Round Robin setting (No Advantages)  

Skill Levels: Beginner: (White Belts) / Advanced: (Blue and Purple Belt) / Expert: (Brown and Black Belt)

Weight Classes: We will be grouping participants in brackets based on weight, the 3 or 4 closest opponents in weight will determine your bracket/competitors. 

Weight Check: All weight checks will be done on same day of tournament. 

Time Limits: All matches will be 5 minutes. Finals of each division will be 7 minutes.

Tournament Scoring: Round Robin Style tournament will be done to ensure the most amount of matches possible for all entrants. Each entrant will compete against all opponents in their respective weight range (3-4 matches). 

-5 points for submission 

-3 points for majority of points in a match

-1 point to both for a tie 

Absolute Divisions: This division will be adult only and consist of finalists of each division. Will be a sign up only event during the day of the tournament.
