About This Event
Welcome to the Salisbury Open Junior Championships — a celebration of the next generation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Today is about courage, learning, and stepping onto the mats to test yourself. For many of these young athletes, this may be their first competition; for others, it’s another step in a journey built on discipline, resilience, and hard work.
Set in the shadow of the historic Salisbury Cathedral, we’re proud to bring together teams, families, and coaches to support these young competitors as they challenge themselves and grow through the art of Jiu-Jitsu.
Win or lose, every match is a chance to learn, improve, and show the values that make our community special: respect, determination, and heart.

ALL Adult Spectators £5 on the door
For each child entry - ONE adult will be permitted to spectate for free, any other spectators accompanying the child will pay £5 on the door
The Salisbury Open 2026 will be Sunday the 2nd of May for kids
You must make any necessary changes yourself by logging into your smoothcomp account.
You have access to change your entry up until midnight on check day.
April 28th 2026.
Please check your entry to make sure all the following are correct:
Academy name - cannot be changed on the day
Weight category - you must make weight on the day or you cannot fight
Age category - check you are in the correct place, or go into a younger one
Belt - been promoted? please update your entry
Any changes must be made by yourself by logging into your smoothcomp account before midnight on Check Day.

You only have to be at the event 30 minutes before you fight to sign in, warm up and be ready to be weighed in. Please be aware fight times will change and most likely get earlier so please keep checking online for times.
We will only know fight times once registration has closed and brackets have been created. We estimate to have this information around April 30th
We follow IBJJF rules.
On check day and will start to make any necessary merges. Ideally there should be at least 4 in a category in case someone does not show up, so fights can still go ahead. You also have the opportunity to merge/move yourself into another category on Check Day. We will be doing Round Robin if there aren’t enough competitors in your division. Going to try our utmost to avoid merges.

There are local car parks a short walk away or there is parking at the venue.. but obviously can fill up fast.
Our professional photographer will capture the days events and upload photos to our facebook page within a few days after the event.
