Felippe Beltrao - Randori Jiu-Jitsu
D7 8-12 Central Park Avenue, Ashmore, Ashmore 4214
Randori Jiu Jitsu is a Gold Coast academy specializing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo instruction for all skill levels. Located in Ashmore, the academy creates a supportive community that inspires growth, resilience, and excellence through world-class martial arts training.
The name "Randori" comes from Judo and translates to "free practice" or "sparring," emphasizing the importance of adaptability, fluidity, and applying learned techniques in dynamic situations. Randori Jiu Jitsu integrates both martial arts disciplines, with Judo's focus on balance, throws, and leverage complementing Jiu Jitsu's ground-based techniques, submissions, and control. This unique combination provides students with a comprehensive understanding of martial arts and well-rounded training that builds both physical and mental strength.
Head instructor Professor Felippe Beltrão is a double black belt in both Jiu Jitsu and Judo. His martial arts journey began in 1998 as a young Judo practitioner, earning his Judo black belt in 2009 at age 17 and competing in over 100 tournaments. After moving to Australia in 2017, he began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, earning his black belt in 2022. Professor Felippe is a multiple-time Australian National Champion, Pan Pacific Champion, and was ranked #1 in Australia in both Gi and No-Gi categories as a black belt in 2023. He has earned 7 Australian National titles, 4 Pan Pacific Championships, and competed at the Abu Dhabi Central Pro. Assistant coach Lucy Haiquel is also a multiple-time Australian National Champion, Pan Pacific Champion, and State Champion who specializes in teaching kids programs. The academy offers programs for kids (ages 4+) and adults in both Gi and No-Gi BJJ, Judo, women's only classes, open mat sessions, and private training.
