Founded by Professor Emerson Lopes Junior, a 3rd degree black belt under Master Rogério Olegario of HJJT (Horse Jiu-Jitsu Team) in Londrina, Brazil, the academy emphasizes student well-being and personal growth at each individual's own pace. The training philosophy at Lopes BJJ focuses on creating a healthy, fun, and respectful environment whether students train for self-defense, fitness, or sports competition. The academy offers both Gi and No-Gi classes for adults and kids. Gi classes utilize traditional martial arts uniforms to master essential techniques with grips and holds, while No-Gi classes emphasize grappling and self-defense without the uniform, focusing on adaptability and agility. Professor Emerson Lopes Junior brings over 24 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience, earning his black belt in 2011. After his promotion, he spent nearly 10 years in Abu Dhabi teaching military forces, gaining invaluable experience in training diverse communities. For more than 18 years, he has taught children, adults, and seniors with enthusiasm and dedication. His lineage traces through Mitsuyo Maeda → Carlos Gracie → Reyson Gracie → Osvaldo Alves → Rogério Olegario to Emerson Lopes Junior. He holds IBJJF Black Belt and AJP 3rd Degree Black Belt certifications, along with various teaching and safety certifications.
