Founded by Renato Tarullo, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the academy was born out of a leap of faith during one of the most challenging times in recent history. When the lockdown hit, Renato and his partner Claire saw this as an opportunity to create RT-BJJ, a place where people of all ages could learn, grow, and find resilience through martial arts. RT-BJJ is rooted in the belief that martial arts can be a pathway to developing not only physical skills but also mental strength and confidence that extends beyond the dojo. With a mission to build a community focused on continuous improvement, the academy provides every student with the tools they need to reach their full potential—whether it's mastering self-defence, building fitness, or finding inner resilience. The academy offers a range of BJJ programs, including Gi, No-Gi, and specialised classes for children, teens, and adults, emphasising technique, discipline, and resilience.
