Stoic Jiu Jitsu is a family-focused Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy located in the heart of Dripping Springs, Texas. Founded in October 2022 when Marcus and Laci Douthitt purchased JJ Machado Austin, the academy has built a reputation for quality instruction in a welcoming, community-oriented environment. The academy offers comprehensive BJJ training for all ages and skill levels, from kids as young as 4 years old through adults. Their approach emphasizes not just technical skill development, but also discipline, respect, and self-defense as a way of life. With both gi and no-gi programs, students can explore different aspects of grappling and find the training style that suits them best. Head instructor Marcus Douthitt is a first-degree black belt who has been teaching Jiu Jitsu for over 6 years. Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, Marcus has been a Dripping Springs resident since 2016. He began training BJJ in 2013 at Great Grappling in South Carolina and continued his development at JJ Machado Austin. Alongside Marcus, co-owner Laci Douthitt brings her expertise as an instructor, having started her BJJ journey in 2017. Together, they've created a family atmosphere where parents can train alongside their children, fostering bonds that extend beyond the mat through monthly community meetups.
