## Jiu Jitsu, Grappling & Wrestling For All Skill Levels Eastside Grappling was established in 2015 with the goal to open an all-inclusive and welcoming environment for grapplers of all backgrounds. We focus on creating a learning environment that is friendly, fun and competitive while eliminating the dogma that is found in many traditional schools. You wont be asked to bow to a million times before stepping onto the mat and our coaches go by their first names instead of Professor or Sensei. You can still train hard, improve your skills, meet friends, and become a better human. We offer classes 7 days a week with offerings available for all skill levels. Whether you are a seasoned grappler, an experienced competitor, or just beginning your martial-arts journey we look forward to helping you advance.

Rogue Jiu-Jitsu is a singularly focused jiu-jitsu academy in Seattle, Washington, dedicated to cultivating a community united by passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Founded in 2024 by co-founders Eddie Chou and Constantine Hatzis, both first-degree black belts, Rogue blends time-tested foundations with modern evolutions to cater to both hobbyists and competitors, adults and children alike. The academy's story began in New Jersey in 1998 when Constantine met Eddie through family connections. Years later in 2005, after college and graduate school, they reconnected when living minutes apart in New Jersey. Eddie, already a blue belt, introduced Constantine to jiu-jitsu through a friendly living room scuffle that sparked Constantine's journey into the art. Their paths diverged geographically as they trained under various top instructors across Texas, New Jersey, New York, Los Angeles, Indiana, and Seattle, but their shared passion for jiu-jitsu remained constant. In 2024, they reunited in Seattle to co-found Rogue Jiu-Jitsu, bringing their combined 31+ years of experience to the Pacific Northwest. Rogue Jiu-Jitsu operates from world-class facilities featuring 2,200 square feet of mat space, modern showers and changing rooms, and ample parking. The academy offers comprehensive programming including Intro to Jiu-Jitsu for beginners, All-Levels and Advanced classes for experienced practitioners, Women's Only classes taught by experienced female instructors, Kids' Jiu-Jitsu for ages 5-8, Stand-Up for takedown training, Open Mat sessions, constraint-based Positionals classes, and student-driven Reverse Classroom workshops. The academy also offers a structured 4-week Foundations Program for complete beginners, providing cohort-based learning to build confidence and safety fundamentals. The instructional team includes co-founders Eddie Chou (1st degree black belt under Thiago Rela, 2019 Masters Worlds champion at brown belt) and Constantine Hatzis (1st degree black belt with 19 years experience), along with Katy Smith (black belt, 2023 Pan American silver medalist), Faye Farrales (brown belt from Renzo Gracie Academy NYC, 2018 Pans 3rd place and Master Worlds champion at purple belt), John Nguyen (brown belt, trained under Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles at Alliance), Patrick Cooper (brown belt, two-time high school wrestling place winner), Krista Orchard (brown belt from 10th Planet Portland), Marshall Godsil (purple belt), Liam Ferguson (purple belt), and Dan Bruhns (purple belt with wrestling and judo background). The academy emphasizes an inclusive, welcoming environment with free access to women's classes for practitioners from any affiliation.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
