Arm Bar for Mount Drill

Arm Bar for Mount Drill

From Ascend Jiu Jitsu

January 30, 2024

We do not start teaching joint locks or choke holds until a student is 10 years old or older. Once a kid demonstrates that they can be responsible, we introduce them to submissions. In this video: Isa is basing her weight on her hands to make her hips light, so that he may turn her torso and swing her legs perpendicular to Alex’s trunk and trap his arm. The drill has students working on attacking both sides of their opponents body. Let me know at the academy if you have any questions.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
