Have you copped a mean bruise while rolling? Got some weird swelling, lumps and bumps? BJJ is a true contact sport but it can hit you in the strangest places. Usually a bruise isn't enough to stop you from training but can leave you super sore- but some can be really serious. Bone bruises in particular can hang around for ages and can cause blood clots which definitely need medical attention. When you do take a hard Knock don't just ignore it as this can get serious if ignored. JT & Joey have some key tips that will help you deal with these painful situations and bounce back quicker. If you have suffered a soft tissue trauma this is the episode for you.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
