Cross Collar Choke for White Belts (Fix these BIG Mistakes)

Cross Collar Choke for White Belts (Fix these BIG Mistakes)

From Chewjitsu

Today, I'm going to show you a BJJ submission that I couldn't do to save my life when I was a White belt. . . The X Choke. 1 of the most basic cross collar grips.

I wasn't really able to use this successfully until I was a BJJ Brown/Black Belt.

It's a pretty basic move, but there are a few mistakes that most of us make when trying to use it in the Gi. I'll show you the mistakes so that you can avoid them and finish more cross collar chokes in the gi from full guard.

Thanks for watching.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
