Recently I got a question about whether bodyweight/calisthenics vs lifting weights for BJJ. Basically, which is better for supporting your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training.
In the video I'll share my ideas as to what I think the best lifting routine is for BJJ. I'll also share some ideas on the kind of programs I'd steer clear of and what to look for to support your training and longevity on and off the mats.
Maybe it's just because I'm a bit older, but I want to be able to train for a long time and be healthy enough to run with my kid and play with my dog and do all the other stuff I enjoy. I don't want to be a great grappler and a wreck outside of the gym.
Hope the video helps.
