Today’s question comes from a BJJ Purple Belt who notices that all the new White Belts at his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are constantly apologizing and saying sorry.
He says that he enjoys helping out the new guys (just like others did for him) but all of the new people seem to constantly say sorry.
He’s wondering why this mindset is the way it is, if it’s common in BJJ and why?
So I share my bearded opinion about why I don’t think it’s just in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I also talk about how its a destructive mindset that you have to break people of. I call it Red Ink Syndrome.
Watch the video and hopefully it helps give you a useful idea to chew on whether you’re coaching or a new BJJ White Belt.
