An Effective Back Take from an Unorthodox Position in BJJ

An Effective Back Take from an Unorthodox Position in BJJ

From Chewjitsu

September 11, 2026

This video is a clip from 1 of my recent Chewjitsu Camps in 2026.

The camp was focused on back takes and using my Reverse Turtle Back Take system.

This particular back take series shown in the video is 1 of my most effective when facing a person who loves going into turtle. I’ve used it successfully to win things like No Gi Worlds, No Gi Pans and matches in ADCC Trials and other well known comps.

If you struggle with someone regaining their guard after the turtle, watch the video and give it a try.

Hope the video helps and thanks for watching.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
