Adult No-Gi Jiu Jitsu in Miramar Beach | Berimbolo Without the Gi & First-Score Rounds
From Coastal Jiu Jitsu
A good attack makes your partner choose between bad options. In this Adult No-Gi class at Coastal Jiu Jitsu in Miramar Beach, we work the berimbolo without the gi and practice creating back exposure, then run first-score rounds.
If you want a challenge that feels like solving a puzzle, this is a good example.
Inside this class
The coach shows that you can still hit the berimbolo in no-gi as long as you come over the top. The idea is giving back exposure: putting your partner in a spot where the wrong choice exposes the back. As they adjust, you adjust. Partners drill it with tight knees and pressure, then we run rounds to the first score. Near the end there's a short detail on stopping a knee bar by covering the knee.

Key technical concepts
Give them bad options. A good attack makes every choice your partner has a tough one.
Adjust as they adjust. When your partner reacts, you react too.
Race to the first score. Short rounds keep everyone focused on one goal.
Why this work matters
Problem-solving under pressure keeps training interesting and builds patience. Students learn to make a plan, notice what isn't working, and try another option, and the more experienced partner sets the pace so people at every level can train hard and keep coming back.
This video is also an honest look at a normal day of training here. Nobody is performing for the camera: you see the questions, the corrections, the missed attempts, and the small wins that add up over time. If you've wondered what a class actually feels like before you walk in, this is it. Come try one, ask questions, and see for yourself.
New to Jiu Jitsu?
You don't need any wrestling or Jiu Jitsu background to start. Beginners learn the basics first, drill at a controlled pace, and build up to live training with coaching along the way. Questions are always welcome, and partners look after each other so everyone can keep training.
