Always Thank Your Training Partners After Jiu Jitsu Class #jiujitsu #jiujitsulife #friscotx

Jiu Jitsu class doesn’t always end when the final round is over. One of the best traditions in Jiu Jitsu happens afterward, when everyone lines up, shakes hands and thanks the people they trained with.

Your training partners challenge you, help you improve and give you the opportunity to test your skills every time you step on the mats. You may spend the night trying to pass someone’s guard, escape a submission or get the tap, but when training is finished, it’s all about respect.

That handshake at the end of class is a simple reminder that nobody gets better at Jiu Jitsu alone. 🥋

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
