Welcome to American Martial Art Academy, we specialize in sport, self defense, and strength training. We had the opportunity to have 4th Degree Black Belt Professor Formiga on the mats with us. This spotlight highlights the benefits of Jiu-Jitsu, applications of self defense, how AMAA compares to other gyms around the nation, and being part of Soul Fighters Association.

American Martial Art Academy is a 5000 sq. ft.facility, which includes, 1768 sq. ft. of professional martial art training mats, 1000+ sq. ft. for strength training, and a 800+ sq. ft. lounge for parents and children. In addition, our facility is climate-controlled, WIFI access for our members, brightly-lit with an eye-catching design, first-rate hygienic standards, state of the art martial art training mat to ensure student safety, contemporary looking studio, and offering the highest level of professional martial art instruction and training on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

We offer a variety of programs for kids, adults, and families. Our focus for martial arts is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and within fitness is our G.R.I.T Program (Group Resistance Intensity Training) which includes TRX, body weight conditioning, and resistance training.

We invite you over to tour our facility and to participate in one of our programs. We look forward to meeting you and helping you successfully achieve your goals. 228-238-7444

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
