A MESSAGE TO JIU-JITSU SCHOOL OWNERS: a financial plan to save your school | COVID-19 CRISIS
To help the Jiu-Jitsu community in this critical moment that the world is going through, Professor Marcelo Bonança is sharing a strategic and efficient financial action plan to support BJJ school owners and family businesses.

For those who don’t know, Marcelo holds a Master’s degree in Economics from one of the best schools in Brazil – FGV. On the mats, a black belt first degree. Off them, he has 15 years of experience in Finance and has worked for multinationals in Brazil and Canada, alongside some renowned economists (including the current Finance Minister of Brazil, Paulo Guedes, and the CEO of the Petrobras, Roberto Castello Branco). During this time, he travelled the world handling inquires of large international investors.

As a school owner, he has truly benefited from his experience in strategic financial planning and had relevant results, even during slow seasons. Early in the crisis, he implemented an emergency model that is considerably minimizing the financial impact on his school.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
