Shaolin Sweep to Single Leg | Prof. Rafaello Oliveira | Houzn BJJ 365

From Houzn Jiu Jitsu Academy

October 21, 2026

Day #243 - Prof. Rafaello Oliveira is back with another Shaolin Sweep variation—this time connecting the sweep straight into a single leg. The idea is simple: off-balance first, then rise with purpose and take what they give you. It’s a clean option when your opponent posts, pressures in, or thinks they’re safe after the initial sweep threat. Add it to your open guard and start forcing reactions instead of chasing them. Watch the full clip, drill it, and tell us how it feels in sparring. Follow Houzn’s BJJ 365 series for daily technique drops.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
