MMA legends Fabricio Werdum and Junior Dos Santos are slated for a grappling match at Adrenaline Fight League 3 in Brazil on July 6th. This marks their third encounter, but their first under pure grappling rules, following two previous MMA bouts where Dos Santos secured a TKO victory in 2008 and Werdum won via submission in 2020. The shift to a grappling format is particularly significant for a BJJ audience, given Werdum's decorated background.

Werdum is a highly accomplished grappler, boasting multiple BJJ world championships and an ADCC gold medal. He is celebrated for his sophisticated submission game, making this match an ideal platform for him to showcase his elite skills without the element of striking. In contrast, Dos Santos, primarily known for his striking, holds a BJJ black belt but has rarely had the opportunity to demonstrate his grappling prowess in a competitive setting against a specialist of Werdum's caliber.

This grappling trilogy bout offers a unique spectacle for BJJ enthusiasts, providing insight into how Dos Santos' grappling has developed against one of the sport's all-time greats. It's an opportunity for Werdum to potentially secure a dominant submission victory, which would be highly anticipated by fans eager to see his BJJ mastery in action. The event aims to deliver high-profile grappling contests to the Brazilian audience.
