# 2026 Bring on the Dry Studio Only Kids Comp

## Overview

**Event Type:** Competition

**Description:** Weights are done in a GI:

This is a Mixed belt comp, we will try our best to separate colours where possible, and mix for smaller divisions for best number of fights.

Only divisions of 2 or more will go ahead.

All categories with 5 or more will be double knock and will fight for bronze where possible.

All categories of 4 and 3 will be round robin, this is all to increase number of fights and experience.

The Studio Darwin may choose to pay double bronze to kids age 7 and down but the child Technically in 4th place will not have a bronze recorded on there profile.

Kids will be weighed at 8:30am (Typically Age 7.5 Down subject to change during registration based on weight and age) All Fighters must weigh in. 

Juniors age 8 and above will be weighed at 10:30am All Fighters must weigh in..

Rules: The JJ Studio Darwin Rules. This is a learning comp and Referees are also learning but have years of experience with in the sport.

Kids Rules and questions will be covered at 8:40am all fighters 7 and under must be present.

Juniors Rules and questions will be covered at 10:40am approx all fighter over 8 must be present.

It is up to the Fighter to move Brackets, we may choose to move certain fighters with some consultation, but not all, if you are in a bracket on your own the day brackets are done, you may be refunded the cost less the Smoothcomp costs, If you weigh in out of bracket you will not fight. 

Illegal Moves:

1- All leg/Foot attacks, including attacking the foot when opponent crosses their feet on back control.

2- Guillotine Choke, with or with out an arm, including Peruvian necktie, anaconda choke, Dárce choke, neck cranks, and , any head arm triangle variations.

3- Slams from closed guard.

4- Wrist locks.

5- Oma-plata's.

6- Scissor takedowns.

7- Calf and Bicep slicers.

8- Pulling the head in a leg triangle.

9- Ezekiel chokes from any position.

10- Kidney locks, from either closed guard or back (body triangles).

11- Suplex takedowns.

12- Jumping Guard.

13- Groin stretch.

14- knee Reaping.

15- Single leg takedown with head to the out side exposed.

16- Direct neck cranks, including any attack on the head using two arms from the front position.

17- Triangle using the legs from any position with out the opponent's arm in.

Rules Note:

If a child applies an illegal technique, the referee will stop the fight and undo the illegal move, and explanation will be given, and typically no penalty will be given for first attempt.

If the referee believes that the illegal move used, gave the player an unfair advantage a penalty will be applied and fighters will be stood up.

In the event of a child tapping from an illegal technique, before the referee has the chance to stop the match, the offender may be DQ'd.
