**Description:** The BALI OPEN Is an international Jiu Jitsu competition in a tournament format. Open for every Bjj practitioner to participate and compete.

The BALI OPEN is a submission only rule set (EBI), meaning there is no score or point system to win a match, other than by submission.

The BALI OPEN is organizing Gi as well as NoGi events for Kids, Women and Men. We adjust the brackets by age, weight classes and level into equal divisions to offer the best possible experience for every combatant in all categories.

The BALI OPEN has as a main goal to represent and spread the love of the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in and around Indonesia, and work together with local organizations and brands.

Kids Divisions:

4 years until 15 years (16 years and older joining adult divisions) brackets get set at the event, by age, weight and experience levels. We decide and organize the division brackets, so that the kids can have as many matches as possible in a fair range of opponents. We guarantee at least 2 matches for each kid. Medals for 1st-3rd place in each division.

Adults Divisions:

The organizer keeps the divisions and weight classes flexible regarding the amount of registrations to offer the best possible and fair brackets for all competitors.

- White Belt / Beginner - NoGi less than 3 years bjj, wrestling, judo, NoGi
- Blue Belt / Intermediate - NoGi more than 3 years bjj, wrestling, judo, NoGi
- Purple Belt and higher / Advanced - NoGi more than 5 years bjj, wrestling, judo, NoGi

- White Belt / Beginner - NoGi less than 3 years bjj, wrestling, judo, NoGi
- Blue Belt / Intermediate - NoGi more than 3 years bjj, wrestling, judo, NoGi
- Purple Belt and higher / Advanced  NoGi more than 5 years bjj, wrestling, judo, NoGi

Variation 1:
Tournament brackets of 4 to 16 competitors. Winner advances to the next round. Optional loser bracket (first round lost advance to a loser bracket, so every competitor get 2 matches)

Variation 2:
Round Robin, brackets with multiple competitors, each competitor gets a match vs each other. The one with the most wins ranked 1st, then 2nd the 3rd. Same amount of wins the direct contact declares the winner.

Match: 1 Round of 4 min

Submission only means that there is no point system to win. The referee can stop the fight if submission is in place, to prevent any form of injuries, which is rated as a submission win. If no submission happens, referee decisions declare a winner, based on dominance, submission attempts, control and activity.

Gi:
The Gi size should fit accordingly (no too big or too small) one color, white, blue, black (pink for Girls). No t-shirts or pants underneath, rash guards are allowed, and mandatory for girls. No cups, mouthguards are recommended.

No-Gi:
top: rash guard short or long sleeve, must fit thigh. Bottom: legging and shorts are allowed, no zipper, no buttons on the shorts. No shoes, no cups, mouthguards are recommended.

Illegal submission/ techniques Kids

We don't want to disqualify kids at the tournament, so we put a 2 warnings rule in, so the 3rd time using an illegal technique in a match we will end the match and rate it as a lost.

KO- Tournament bracket for each division. Winner advances to the next round. Optional loser bracket (first round lost advance to a loser bracket, so every competitor get 2 matches in minimum)

White Belt : 5 min match

Blue Belt up: 6 min match

Submission only means that there is no point system to win. The referee can stop the fight if submission is in place, to prevent any form of injuries, which is rated as a submission win. If no submission happens, the match goes into a tiebreaker by EBI rules (backtake escape/ submission, faster time wins the match.)

Gi:
Standard competition Gi regulation. No t-shirts or pants underneath, rash guards are allowed, and mandatory for Women. No cups, mouthguards are mandatory.

No-Gi:
top: rash guard, short or long sleeve, must fit thigh.
Bottom: legging and shorts are allowed, no zipper, no buttons on the shorts.
No shoes, no cups, mouthguards mandatory.
